Andre Ammelounx (The Stein Auction Company) and Gary Kirsner (Gary Kirsner Auctions) have agreed to merge their two companies on January 1, 2007. The business will operate under the name of The Stein Auction Company. The main office will be located in Palatine, Illinois. We will have approximately ten auctions per year, including some live auctions that will be held in conjunction with stein collecting events. We anticipate that as a result of this merger there will be a more uniform flow of auctions in the future. Changes in the market climate for collecting as well as the inflationary pressures that have affected all businesses in the antiques and auction fields need to be counteracted. Our merger will help us offer fair and reasonable commission rates without reducing services. We plan a few changes that will be introduced during 2007. Our goal is to make both bidding and consigning easier for the collector. During 2007 our website’s usefulness will be expanded. We have conducted over 300 auctions of beer steins and related items since 1982. We will be able to offer both consignors and buyers our significant experience with either the sale of your collection or with future purchases. Andre Ammelounx and Gary Kirsner travel over 250,000 miles annually visiting collectors and facilitating the transportation of collections to our offices. This service will continue to be available for large collections.
